The Pickin’ Patch is CLOSED today, SATURDAY, July 4. We will be closed Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, July 4 – 7. We will be open again on Wednesday, July 8 from 9 – 6 pm.
We ran out of ripe fruit and we need to wait a few days for more to ripen up.
Our usual hours are Wed.- Sun. 9 am- 6 pm. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please continually check whether we are open or not because sometimes we run out of ripe fruit (like right now, heh-heh) or the weather misbehaves so we have to close unexpectedly.
Blackberries are in season! Right now we have several varieties of blackberries that will be ready for picking next week– Dragonberries, Jazz, and Trojan. We also have some black raspberries — a variety called Jewel. You might even find a gooseberry or two.
The red raspberries are taking a break for awhile because of the hot weather. We are hoping they will start again around July 8.
White and yellow peaches will be ready for picking on Wednesday, as well as plums and a variety of pluot called Dapple Dandy. It has a fantastic flavor, but a rather unspectacular appearance — mottled greenish on the outside, dark pink on the inside. Just scrumptious!
The cherries and apricots are gone for this year. But it looks like next year will be a heavy crop, so get ready for 2021!
The address of the Pickin’ Patch has changed from prior years. It is now located at 37945 County Rd. 31, Davis (corner of Rd. 31 & Rd 98) . So it is at the same location as Grandpa’s Barn and October’s Pumpkin Patch.
There is a $2 per person entry fee in to the Pickin’ Patch. Parking is free.
The friendly farm animals are not available for visits this summer, but you are welcome to walk around Grandpa’s Barn and look at them at no charge if you like.
